COMFORT TRIP

Inca trail is a pilgrimage which at Inca time, the Inca I mean the emperor used to do by many days passing for spiritual places to Machu Picchu. On the way you will have the chance to learn a lot about the Quechuas people. Taking your time hiking enjoying the landscape, watching a birds, native forest and great archaeological spots which we will from different point of view, I mean “Foreign point of view” and “Quechua point of view”. The quality of food will be awesome. Because at Inca trail, if you decide to lose weight, probably you will wrong because the cook will fat you on the trail.

 

ITINERARY:

FIRST DAY: CUSCO – MESKAY – LLAQTAPATA. TRAINING DAY

(2800 – 2900 – 2900 masl / 9186 – 9515 – 9515 feet)

Our program is beginning once we pick you up from the place where you are staying for after driving to Ollantaytambo (2850 masl / 9350 feet), place where we stop to see the town this is consider as “The Inca living city”. After this little break we have to drive by 40 more minutes to Piscakucho or Km 82 (2800 masl / 9186 feet), stating point of the Inca trail.

We will have a hike for 3 hours and 30 minutes, to the camping spot which is in Llaqtapata, lunch and after free time, we will have the chance to visit Llaqtapata the archaeological place. Camping and dinner.

 

SECOND DAY: LLAQTAPTA – WAYLLABAMBA – LLULLUCHAPAMPA

(2900 – 3000 – 3700 masl / 9515 – 9842 – 12140 feet) (HIGHEST POINT LLULLUCHAPAMPA)

Breakfast in the morning, once ready the hiking is beginning gradual, on the way you will see Willkaraqay view point, and them walking taking the time to Wayllabamba (3000 masl / 9842 feet) at this place you will have lunch, because after we star to climb up the mountain, Ayapata or Yunkachimpa (3300 masl / 10 825 feet) passing by the native forest to finally getting to Llulluchapampa (3700 masl / 12 140 feet), camping spot where we stay and have dinner as well. Tonight is going to be really cold.

 

THIRD DAY: LLULLUCHAPAMPA – CHAQUICOCHA – PHUYUPATAMARCA

(3700 – 3600 – 3850 masl / 12140 – 11811 – 12631 feet) (HIGHEST POINT WARMIWAÑUSCA)

This day could the first cold day, early in the morning our crew will Wake you up with a gentle coca tea, because will good for altitude. After breakfast our fir challenge is coming, we have to take in advantage the fresher of the valley we have around 2 hours hiking to the top which is Warmiwañusca Pass as known Death Woman Pass (4200 masl / 13 780 feet) once there we start to go down to Pacaymayu as known “the hidden river” (3600 masl / 11811 feet), after a little a snack break is coming our second challenge which is “the Runkuraqay pass” (4000 masl / 13123 feet) on the way up to this point we’ll see Runkuraqay archaeological place. After Runkuraqay pass we start to go down to Cachi Qocha as known “the dry lake” (3600 masl / 11811 feet), lunch place on the way looking the cloud forest and of curse exploring Sayacmarca the Inca spot. After lunch we have 2 more hours to Phuyupatamarca, camping spot for this night. Awesome sceneries, great sunrise, dinner a camping.

 

FOURTH DAY: PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYWAYNA – RUINAS BRIDGE

(3850 – 2700 – 2000 masl / 12631 – 8858 – 6561 feet) (HIGHEST POINT RUNKURAQAY)

Phuyupatamarca which mean “The cloud level town”, a day before you had nice sunset and today you could have great sunrise, but early in the morning you will have a gentle Wake up coca tea, after the breakfast and once ready we start hiking to down to the valley on the way to Machu Picchu, passing by Phuyupatamarca archaeological place and after 3 hours downhill we will have the chance to go visit Winaywayna and Intipata as well. Having the chance to have the lunch at this spot, because after we go to Machu Picchu, you will have 2 hours and an half left to Machu Picchu, sun gate and finally our challenge Machu Picchu. After you will have the chance to decide to go down by bus o walking as well. (Bus ticket you have to buy).

 

FIFTH DAY: RUINAS BRIDGE – MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO –CUSCO

(2000 – 2400 – 2850 – 3400 masl / 6561 – 7874 – 9350 feet)

Early in the morning we are going to Machu Picchu, the bus to Machu Picchu will pick up us at the camping site and we need to drive by 20 minutes, and finally we are in Machu Picchu for exploring. Guiding tour by around 2 hours and them free time or explore by self.

 

Remember that you have to be at the train station as 30 minutes prior of departure time. Train will take to you until Ollantaytambo, place where the van is waiting for you to take you back to Cusco.
